CHARACTER
Name: Loki Olson
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Age:
Demigod/Hunter/Satyr/Nymph: Demigod, son of Hecate, Legacy of Eris (Unsure because it only manifests in his dreams and his strange affinity for chaos)

Demigod abilities:
ADHD
Dyslexia
Enhanced Fighting Skills
Mist Control
Mystiokinesis

Personality:

Loki is, as his namesake implies, a trickster. His pranks are mostly lighthearted fun unless played on a person he does not like. One thing that is absolutely inadvisable is to get on Loki’s bad side. As a child of Hecate he can very easily make someone’s life living hell. Along with this he is rather intelligent, having a vast knowledge of many subjects that pertain to both his demigod nature and the world around him. Though he stays at camp year-round he makes an effort to learn of the outside world. This mix of knowledge can also prove dangerous for those he does not like.

On a deeper level Loki is surprisingly reserved. The magic he inherited from his mother is strongly tied to his emotions. If he is not calm whatever spell he is trying to cast will likely fail or mess up in some other (probably more dangerous) way. Because of this Loki has had to learn over the years to control his emotions, or at least pretend he is. Very few ever know what he is truly thinking, leading many to distrust him. Many criticize his seeming cold demeanor in battle, but he tends to ignore them. He knows what he must do to keep himself and those he holds dear alive.

He differs from his MCU canon character in that he has a support system and people he considers family. If left in the normal world he likely would have ended up much like his supervillian self, but coming to Camp Halfblood has impacted him for the better in a very big way. It mellowed him, giving him an outlet for his magic and people who liked him for him. While he still puts up a front around many people, even at camp, he is far more likely to trust people enough to show them his true emotions.

AU History:

From a very young age Loki has a sense he didn’t belong with his family. He grew up the son of a prominent politician from Wisconsin and his beautiful wife. He had two older brothers, and it was plan his father favored him over Loki. Most of his time at home was spent trying to impress his father and win his approval and while he was never overtly disapproving of small Loki’s actions his dismissive nature was more than enough to begin planting the seeds of doubt in his son’s mind.

One day at school when he was 9 something happened. He was at school when a group of bullies cornered him in the playground at school. To this day he honestly has no idea what they were planning on doing to him because just as one approached the trash from a nearby dumpster began attacking the children. They ran away, and Loki went about his day, trying to rationalize what had happened. Even at such a young age he was rather disinclined to believe something like that could be magic.

When he got home he had hoped to talk to his mother about it, but upon entering the house he was hit by the overwhelming stench of blood. In the living room he found his eldest brother dead at the feet of a Hellhound. He would have died as well had a representative from CHB come at that moment and killed the beast. When the rest of the family returned home it was explained what happened and that Loki was actually a Son of Hecate. It was then that his parents admitted that they had adopted him when he was a baby. His father, deciding he did not want his family in any more danger, told the representative that Loki was to stay at the camp year round, despite protests from his mother.

So Loki came to live at Half-Blood Hill. His first few years were tumultuous at best, but he made friends and eventually came out of the shell he had encased himself in when his father seemingly cast him out. When he turned 13 he received a letter from his mother explaining that they had made a mistake in giving him away, and that he was welcome to come back home, but by that point he no longer wanted to go home, choosing instead to remain a year-round camper.

He fought for the Olympians in the battle of Manhattan. He came very close to death once and had to be carried off the battle field and nursed back to health at the camp. After the battle the goddess Eris claimed him as a bearer of her legacy, even though he had, to that point, showed no signs other than a love of discord and strange, chaotic dreams that had beset him at a young age. It is yet undetermined if he will show more of his ancestor than this, though he has begun to look into her teleportation abilities with great interest.

Counselor: Yes please 8D. He’s the oldest as far as I can tell as well as the only who’s been there the longest so it would be nice.

Iris Message:

Welcome back to camp, halfbloods. I do hope you had a good school year, or as good as can be expected.

I suppose what I should say is I am glad you are all in one piece. A monster attack-free year is the ideal, but really it is just good to come out unscathed.

To those arriving at the Hecate Cabin: Welcome. It will be nice to finally have a place of our own.

To the Ares Cabin: It was not I who put the charm on your clothes to make them eternally itchy, so stop trying to kill me at every convince. If you ask nicely I may be able to remove the charm.

Here’s to another year.
